Please submit your NursingCAS application first. Once your application has been verified
by NursingCAS, you will be notified by Augusta University’s (AU's) Graduate Admissions
Office (graduateadmissions@augusta.edu) to set up your AU applicant portal. The email will also provide instructions on
how to complete and submit your AU Supplemental Application.
Early submission of all application materials is strongly advised.
NOTE: Nursing Anesthesia does not defer admission or accept late applications. All required application materials and documents must be received in order for application to be considered complete and before an admission decision can be made.
The program does not accept applications after the published application deadline, however the program will continue to accept application materials up to 2 weeks after the application deadline.
The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Form I-20 for F-1 student status or Form DS-2019 for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status cannot be issued by Augusta University for enrollment in this online program per U.S. immigration regulations. GPA
Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum overall graduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all work attempted.
Degree Requirement
Completion of a prelicensure nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion of a prelicensure Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited program and an accredited college or university. To be used to satisfy degree requirements, evaluation of foreign educational transcripts must show degrees earned that are the U.S. equivalency of degrees required by the program.
Degrees earned from pass/fail BSN program MUST take the GRE and achieve an "A" in at least (3) hours of graduate-level science coursework from an accredited college or university.
Official Transcripts
Official transcripts are required from all universities and colleges attended. Only in the case of transcripts from international colleges/universities will an official course-by-course transcript evaluation be accepted in lieu of an official transcript. Official transcripts should be sent to NursingCAS. To remain official, all transcripts must remain in the original, unopened, sealed and stamped/signed envelope from the Registrar's office of the issuing institution. Alternatively, NursingCAS will accept official electronic transcripts from the registrar's office at your prior institution. Applicants should submit their transcripts via the process provided in the NursingCAS Help Center. ALL transcripts must be sent to NursingCAS. If you send them directly to Augusta University they cannot be loaded into CAS. Without the transcripts in CAS your application cannot be verified and will not be considered.
Transcript/Credential Evaluation of Foreign Transcripts
An official, professional course-by-course evaluation based on official transcripts and documents is required for all foreign educational transcripts and documents from one of the following three credentials evaluation services: Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., World Education Services (WES), and Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE). Silny and WES are recommended. Official transcript evaluations based on unofficial transcripts, documents or copies will not fulfill this requirement.
Letters of Recommendation (3)
As part of the online NursingCAS application process, applicants provide the names and current email addresses of three individuals they have asked to serve as their references.
Applicants should select three references who can speak to their academic, professional, and/or clinical performance. One reference must be from a supervisor (charge nurse, unit manager).
Once the online application is submitted, each referee will receive an email notification directing him/her to the online site where he/she can complete the reference form and submit his/her letter of recommendation.
Standardized Test Requirements
The GRE is required for applicants with a minimum overall undergraduate or graduate (MSN/CNL) program GPA < 3.6, or if awarded a BSN from a Pass/Fail university. All GRE scores must be official and submitted to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions directly from the Education Testing Service (ETS) and must be less than five years old. The institution code for submission of GRE scores to Augusta University is 5406. Please do not select a department code.
English Proficiency (if applicable)
English proficiency exam scores are required for applicants whose first language is
not English and who do not qualify for an English proficiency exam waiver per the
criteria listed below. Augusta University will accept official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test (IELTS) exam scores. Official exam scores must be taken within 2 years of the date of application.

Prerequisite Coursework
Applicants must have completed a 3 credit hour undergraduate or graduate chemistry course and statistics or biostatistics course with a grade of "B" or higher.

Essay
Included within the application, applicants must submit a written component describing why you want to be a nurse anesthetist and how your previous education and experiences will enhance your ability in the program.
Shadowing
Applicants are required to shadow a minimum of eight hours with a CRNA prior to their interview. Shadowing hours should be added to your Resume/CV (see above).
Credentials
AACN Certification (adult, pediatrics, or neonatal) preferred, but not required.
Licensure
Proof of unrestricted RN license from the state where the applicant is practicing at the time of application. Proof of current unrestricted Georgia or multi-state RN license is required before enrollment. This item is uploaded directly into NursingCAS.
Experience
Minimum of one-year of full-time, critical care nursing experience, within the past 3 years.
Examples of critical care experience s may include but are not limited to: surgical intensive care, cardiothoracic intensive care, coronary intensive care, medical intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and neonatal intensive care.
Those who have experiences in other areas may be considered provided they can demonstrate competence with managing unstable patients, invasive monitoring, ventilators, and critical care pharmacology.
