Thesis Track

The Thesis Track emphasizes in-depth research culminating in a formal research paper. Students will also defend their work through an oral presentation. While the program is primarily online, it does require on-campus presence at Augusta University for the final two semesters. These semesters focus on applied research courses and the face-to-face interaction crucial for completing that kind of work.

Non-Thesis Track

The Non-Thesis Track offers a flexible option for completing the program entirely online. Students demonstrate their mastery of the curriculum through comprehensive exams instead of a thesis. To gain practical experience, the program track incorporates an internship, allowing you to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.

Students interested in pursuing a doctoral degree would benefit more from the thesis option in preparation for dissertation research. Students interested in the sports coaching certificate program and practical hands-on experience would benefit more from the non-thesis option.
