DCG Guidelines for Prescribing Medication

All DCG Providers must prescribe patient medications through axiUm’s eRx module, which requires special registration.

New Faculty & Residents

If you have a valid State Dental license on file with DCG, you will be able to send scripts under your Dental license number without requiring faculty approval.

Before you can use eRx via aXium, you will also be required to complete the federally mandated NPI Registration and ID Proofing Process.

Residents Only

To utilize eRx and establish the appropriate access to prescribe medications without faculty approval, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LICENSE ON FILE. Please contact Corliss Norman-Williams (residents) or your department's administrative assistant (faculty) to make sure you have submitted this information.

Additional Guidelines

  • Non-controlled scripts are submitted directly to the patient’s pharmacy via the eRx Electronic Prescriptions module.
  • Controlled substances are always printed.
  • Controlled substances will require faculty unless you have a valid DEA license on file with DCG.
