Welcome to the Medical College of Georgia (non-ACGME) Healthy Aging Fellowship.
We offer a one-year interdisciplinary clinical and research training program at the PGY-1 level focusing on gerontology. The skills learned during the fellowship will enhance the applicant’s skills and prepare them to advance to the next stage of their career.
OUR MISSION:
To train medical doctors to deliver high quality medical care to the rapidly aging population of Georgia.
APPLICANTS:
This program accepts one applicant per year. We are currently accepting applicants for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Physicians who have completed medical school and have successfully completed USMLE step 1 & 2.
Applicants must be a US Citizen, possess a valid US Permanent Resident Card or eligible for J-1 sponsorship by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). All international graduates must also hold a currently valid certificate from the ECFMG.

CONFERENCES:
Outpatient clinical teaching rotations are supplemented by a weekly lecture core curriculum.
The curriculum is made-up of didactic lectures on geriatrics, pharmacology, palliative care, endocrinology, neurology and psychiatry for the elderly. Fellows present monthly on topics of interest to them, as well as quarterly journal clubs.

Fellows are encouraged to develop analytical skills and produce a scholarly project or manuscript in collaboration with faculty
