Established in 1979, our fellowship program has extensive experience preparing physicians for a successful career in Infectious Diseases. Former fellows have pursued a wide variety of career paths including private practice, academic medicine, industry, and even humanitarian service with international aid organizations. We take great pride in providing a solid clinical and educational foundation that prepares fellows to be outstanding Infectious Disease clinicians ready for autonomous practice.
The Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is a two-year program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Individuals who have successfully completed, or are in line to complete, a three-year residency in Internal Medicine are eligible to apply.
