(SATURN) Statins Use in Intracerebral Hemorrhage Patients

This study is for people who have had bleeding in the brain (brain hemorrhage), and were taking a statin drug. Statins are drugs used to reduce cholesterol level in the blood. It is to find out if it is better to continue or discontinue statin drugs after someone has a brain hemorrhage.


Eligibility Criteria

  • INCLUSION: Adults 50 years of age and older had an intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) confimed by CT or MRI within seven days prior to randomization were taking a statin drug at the onset of the ICH EXCLUSION: ICH caused by underlying vascular abnormality or tumor, trauma, or other reason Heart attach or unstable angine within the previous three months familial hypercholesterolemia severe dementia or know to be unable to comply with study requirements life expectancy of less that 24 months due to other conditions
