Evaluation of colonic pressure activity, topographic mapping with colonic transit and evacuation using Fecobionics- a simulated electronic stool, in subjects with constipation and control subjects
This study is to evaluate colonic pressure activities and colonic transit using a novel device called Fecobionices which is a stimulated electronic stool. The purpose of this study is to understand how colon muscle move. Then to understand how stool travels through the colon. Our purpose is to better understand how the colon muscle work in patients and healthy subjects using this device.
Eligibility Criteria
- 18 years or older constipated and non-constipated patients undergoing colonscopy and without a history of bowel surgery or active anal rectal condition, taking any opioids pain medications or severe heart, kidney, or lung disease.
