Reliability of Thermal Camera for Skin Assessment

The purpose of the study is to evaluate skin temperature at nine specific locations on the bottom of the foot in healthy adults. The specific aim is to ensure that the a specific type of thermal imaging camera is consistent at measuring skin temperature. This tool has been used in previous research studies. Thermal imaging is non-invasive, and the subject will not feel the measurement being taken. Our hypothesis is that the skin temperature measurements will be consistent when taken by two different researchers on the same day. If this tool is found to be reliable, future studies will be conducted on a more specific subject population in order to promote equity in heathcare.
