CV Sarcoidosis: A pilot study for understanding inflammation pathways in cardiac sarcoidosis
The purpose of this pilot study is to obtain preliminary data of potential biomarkers that may correlate with cardiac inflammation, and to establish feasibility of personal ECG monitoring to detect cardiac arrhythmias, in patients with sarcoidosis.
Eligibility Criteria
- INCLUSION: 1. Age 18 years or older, diagnosed sarcoidosis with/without evidence of the condition being in the heart. EXCLUSION: 1. Presence of conditions disallowed by the protocol. 2. Prisoners 3. Patients who do not speak or understand English, or with impaired ability to understand and/or sign consent CONTROL SUBJECT POPULATION: Participants who are controls will be matched for age, sex, body mass index and seelected risk factors with experimental subjects qualified per criteria above, but no evidence of sarcoidosis.
