Translational Research in Benign and Malignant Genitourinary, Gastrointestinal, and Breast Diseases.
We are studying the mechanisms of the spread (metastasis) and recurrence of genito-urinary tumors (e.g., bladder, prostate, kidney etc.) and the cause of interstitial cystitis, a painfully irritative and chronic bladder condition. We believe that certain substances that accelerate these diseases may be found primarily in the urine and affected tissues of patients with these diseases. To establish this, we want to analyze urine and tumor tissue specimens. If you are found to not have genito-urinary tumors or recurrent GU disease, you will only be asked for a single urine sample.
Eligibility Criteria
- Inclusion criteria: Men and women 18 years of age or older. Patients with or without genitourinary conditions. Exclusion criteria: Males and females < 18 years of age. Pregnant females.
