Applications for the Summer 2025 Admissions Cycle open July 1 and close October 1, 2024. Early applications are strongly encouraged. Interviews for Summer 2025 admissions will be held in the fall semester by invitation only. Applications are reviewed in the order that they become complete. Applications are considered complete when all supporting materials (transcripts, letters of recommendation, and test scores) have been received and processed by Admissions. It may take several weeks for materials to be processed by Admissions. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the materials arrive in time to be processed. Students will be notified by email if they are invited to a virtual interview session. Applicants will be notified of admission decisions beginning as early as October 2024 through May 2025.

Admissions. The OT Department does not handle the receipt of admissions documents

Competitive applicants typically exceed minimum academic requirements. For 2022, the average overall GPA of accepted students was 3.78, with an average math/science GPA of 3.55 and average GRE combined score of 301. The requirements listed below are the MINIMUM recommended requirements for consideration. Competitive applicants will exceed minimum requirements.
Given current limitations in site availability for volunteer and shadowing hours, a minimum of 60 hours are strongly recommended, but not required, for applications to be considered. One or more settings alongside an occupational therapist is encouraged in order to develop a foundational understanding of the responsibilities of the OT in each setting. Attached is the OT log that you may use to record your hours.
Applicants whose first language is not English must submit official TOEFL scores. A minimum score of 213 on the computer-based exam, 550 on the paper exam, or 79 on an Internet- based exam is required for consideration. TOEFL scores must be less than two years old.

Graduate OT students are required to perform certain technical standards. Accepted students must attest to their ability to perform each of these necessary standards prior to beginning classes.
An integral part of the OT curriculum is successful completion of fieldwork experiences throughout the program. All OT students must consent to a criminal background check to have access to fieldwork sites. Prior criminal history may impact the student's ability to be cleared for client contact, thus jeopardizing successful completion of the program.
Students are continually required to disclose in writing to the Office of the Dean of Student Life any and all criminal convictions occurring since completing the application for admission. Disclosure of a prior criminal record is required on the admission application. Criminal convictions include adjudication of guilt by a judge or jury for any crime. It does not include minor traffic offenses, but does include no contest pleas, first-offender treatment, convictions under appeal, and convictions which have since been pardoned. Minor traffic offenses are those which do not involve driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, do not result in imprisonment, and for which a fine of less than $250 was imposed.
