Our clinical partnerships are the heartbeat of our campus. Across the curriculum, all students have the opportunity to work one-on-one with highly rated clinicians to help build skills and knowledge, and to develop a professional identity as a physician. Our parterning health systems include St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, Southeast Georgia Regional Health System in Brunswick, and East Georgia Regional Health System in Statesboro. In addition, students rotate in numerous clinics across coastal Georgia.

Clinical Campus

After the 18 month preclerkship period is complete, students will be able to rotate across our clinical campus headquartered in Savannah.

Our clinical campus encompasses all of Coastal Georgia and includes both the Brunswick and Statesboro areas.  By rotating across our region, students will have the opportunity to obtain a clear picture of how medicine is practiced in many settings, including rural and medically underserved areas.  Housing support is available to students who rotate away from our Savannah campus.

Clinical Rotations

Our clinical rotations provide students with the opportunity to work alongside experienced physicians and healthcare professionals in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. From internal medicine and surgery to pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and beyond, our rotations offer exposure to a wide range of medical specialties, allowing students to explore their interests and develop clinical skills under the guidance of expert mentors.

Clinical Electives

Our clinical elective program allows students to customize their clinical experiences based on their interests and career goals. Whether you're interested in a specific medical specialty, research area, or community health initiative, our elective options offer flexibility and diversity to meet your individual learning needs and aspirations.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

We believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare, and our clinical opportunities provide students with opportunities to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds. Whether you're collaborating with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, or other allied health professionals, our clinical experiences emphasize teamwork, communication, and shared decision-making to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Experiential Learning & Simulation

In addition to clinical rotations, we offer experiential learning opportunities and simulation exercises to enhance clinical skills development in a safe and controlled environment. Through simulation labs, standardized patient encounters, and procedural workshops, students have the opportunity to practice clinical skills, enhance diagnostic reasoning, and gain confidence in their abilities before entering clinical practice.
