The Conservatory Ensembles offer a unique opportunity for talented high school musicians in grades 9-12 to take their skills to the next level. Open to students by recommendation or acceptance into the prestigious GMEA or SCBDA Region II or District X Honor Band, these ensembles provide an authentic and enriching honor band experience. Participants will perform an exciting repertoire of fun yet challenging music, fostering growth, camaraderie, and a passion for excellence in every rehearsal and performance.

Thank you for your interest in the Augusta University Jazz Band! As the premier youth jazz ensemble in the Central Savannah River Area, this group brings together talented and motivated young musicians who are passionate about jazz. Members have the unique opportunity to challenge their artistry by performing dynamic and diverse repertoire at a collegiate level, showcasing their skills in improvisation, rhythm, and ensemble collaboration. Join us to explore the world of jazz and elevate your musicianship!
Registration is now officially open for the 2025 Conservatory Jazz Band! For those not familiar, this is an honors-level ensemble open to any current 9-12th grade band student who has achieved one of the following:
1) Auditioned and has been accepted into an honors-level ensemble (All-County, All-District/Region, All-State) or equivalent
2) Has previously participated in the Conservatory Wind Symphony (High School level)
There is no audition to join the ensemble outside of meeting one of the above qualifications. If you have a student or know a student who you feel would be qualified that does not meet the above criteria, the student can apply for the group with a letter of recommendation from their current band director or private lesson instructor emailed directly to me. This does not guarantee they will be selected for the group.
$120.00 for the semester.

4:00pm- 5:45pm Sunday evenings starting January 19. *Date and time listed above is subject to change. You will be notified via email of any proposed changes.
*Please note that in order to participate, attendance is mandatory at all rehearsals and the performance. If you have an illness, a family emergency or a school band event that conflicts with a rehearsal, please email or call the conservatory office at consprog@augusta.edu prior to the rehearsal.
