Dr. Gross graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1985 and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency in 1992 at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Gross also trained for 4 years as a General Surgery Resident. Dr. Gross is the Director of International and Event Medicine in the Center of Operational Medicine and Co-Director of the International Medicine Fellowship at MCG. Being involved with the International Medicine Program, Dr. Gross has spent many hours providing medical care to the needy in areas of the world where medical care is unavailable. As Director of Event Medicine Dr. Gross oversees activities such as: Masters Golf Tournament, Steeplechase, Ironman, Skyfest, Boat Races and many more. He also serves on the MedWAR Council and has been an asset to the MedWAR activities for the past 15+ years. Reaching out across the states of Georgia and South Carolina using the REACH (Remote Evaluation of Acute isCHemic stroke) telemedicine system he co-developed, Dr. Gross is able to assist physicians in rural Emergency Departments manage and treat acute stroke patients. He is the immediate past chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Telemedicine Section. Dr. Gross is an inaugural member of the MCG Academy of Health Sciences Educators.
