MCG researchers awarded $275K grant to study HIV and retinopathy correlation

The Summerville Interdisciplinary Research Office (SIRO) is pleased to provide this easy to use resource for faculty and staff to find information to aid in their professional growth and development related to research.
Our office reaches across colleges, to assist researchers on all campuses in learning about research practices and to find collaborative groups. This will also be a source for introducing faculty to the SIRO where we help to identify funding opportunities, develop proposals, and manage post award for grants, as well as oversight for the conduct of research project and/or contract.

I support faculty in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals. I also help in post-award activities including the reconciliation of project budgets and preparing budget reports to meet project goals and federal requirements.

I provide grant administrative oversight and contribute to the proposal submission process by assisting faculty with proposal development. I can help with the required internal and external forms and prepare applications for electronic routing.
To assist faculty in identifying potential sponsors, the Department of Sponsored Programs Administration provides access to sponsor web sites, an alphabetical listing with links directly to sponsor home pages, and to Grants.gov, announcements of funding by various federal and private sponsors.

“Research shows that kids gain three to five times the amount of weight over the summer than they do in the remainder of the school year,” says Lauren von Klinggraeff, PhD.
A new 150,000-square-foot research building will provide modern laboratory spaces, advanced equipment and updated technology infrastructure at AU.
“The issue is that the virus is still there and still able to release viral proteins,” says Eric Belin de Chantemèle, PhD.
