- Are you at least 18-years old and currently enrolled at Augusta University?
- Will you have junior-level standing by the time of departure (Exceptions may be made
by the Study Abroad Office based on academic standing and previous travel experience)?
- Are you in good academic and disciplinary standing?
- Have a clear academic, professional, or personal development goal for travel?

How to Get Started
- Plan Ahead – Research opportunities and destinations that align with your goals.
- Register with the Study Abroad Office – Students must register their travel with the Study
Abroad Office at least three months before departure to ensure a smooth approval process.
- Submit Required documents – Approval requires attending a planning meeting with the
Study Abroad Office and completing all necessary forms, including travel details,
proof of insurance, and any required agreements.

Health, Safety & Risk Management
Your safety is our priority. All IST students must:
Students are discouraged from traveling to countries/areas that are currently under
a U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory Level 3. Travel to countries/areas under
a Level 4 Advisory is prohibited. The risk of injury, detention, and death is significantly
greater for many areas within these Travel Advisory Levels. Augusta University cannot
fully assess those risks or provide services in the event of an in-country emergency.
