The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology participates in the Residency Centralized Application Service (CAS), available to medical students through their respective Dean's Offices. Applicants may begin applying through ResidencyCas on June 5, 2024.  Deadline for Applications is September 25, 2024 and we will begin reviewing applications on September 26, 2024. 

We participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP).  You must be registered with the NRMP to be granted an interview.

The following documents are required for a completed application:

  • (1) Letter from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of your medical school, preferably from a Senior Faculty Member or Department Chairman.
  • (3) Letters from faculty members or staff members who have special knowledge of your skills. If you prefer, all three may originate in your obstetrics and gynecology department or these can be from another specialty.
  • Dean's letter and transcript are required.
  • USMLE Scores should be Pass/230 or better on each step. Step 1 and Step 2 are required for all applicants (MD & DO)
  • COMLEX Scores are accepted in our program.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts foreign medical graduates provided the following requirements are met:

■  A United States citizen or permanent resident; or

■  Have a green card; or

■  Must be eligible for a J1 Sponsorship by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates - (H-1B visas are not accepted for housestaff positions); or

■  Possess a valid U.S. Permanent Resident Card; or

■  Valid Employment Authorization Document (EAD).

■  All international medical graduates must also hold a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

■  ECFMG Certificate must be valid one month prior to your start date of July 1st.

You will be notified by email if you have been selected for an interview. We will be conducting all of our interviews virtually.

  
NOTE: Georgia Law requires that a Pre-Employment Drug Screen Request Form be signed before an applicant can be considered for employment. The testing is done at no expense to the individual and is performed during the orientation session in June before the start of the first year. A nationwide background check and finger printing will also be required. During the interview process, any questions regarding the state law will be answered.
