ZOOM ORIENTATION

  • Make sure you use the QR Code to sign in!
  • Orientation for the 2nd years

12:55-1:40PM

  • 2nd years doing RUSH (IVC, lung, cardiac) *staff assist*
  • Must save PSLA for post quiz in D2L
  • Intro to PCE: Dr. Broughton's lecture for 1st years

Telemedicine Encounters (1:45 or 2:35 start) 

  • PPE Competency From (2nd year completes)
  • There will be extra time to set up Amwell Now and review workflow of the day (How to prep for your telemedicine visit, EMR, SOAP, Documentation)

Clinical Procedures  (1:45 & 2:35 start) 

  • PPE donning and doffing

Orientation to Diagnostic Ultrasound and Consent

3:50-4:40pm

  • 1st years ultrasound blue blocks (2nd years will assist and perform US debrief with 1st year students)
  • Must save short access view of vessel with measurements for post quiz and D2L

Telemedicine Patient Encounter

REFRESH

PREWORK REQUIRED

  • Watch Mentoring Video
  • Review your patient's medical history and prepare for your telemedicine patient encounter
  • Recommend choosing a neurological issue to review (Example: Migraines, Neuropathy, CVA history, seizures)
  • Review Telehealth Physical Exams: Neurological - Old Dominion University (Focus on "Cranial Nerve Exam" for Block 9 and review the "Comprehensive Neuro Telehealth Exam" for Block 10)

POSTWORK

  • Review mentee(s) note and offered feedback 
  • Complete your patient's note (may use M1s note and edit) by 5:00 PM 48 hours after the day of your patient encounter and sign/submit your note to Clinical Experience Preceptor for signature.  Submit to all others as a reviewer: PCL preceptor, primary care physician, and partner.  If have SP encounter, send note the PCE preceptor, PCL preceptor, partner, and mentees.  If this is not completed on time, you will lose professionalism points. 
  • Once your note is sent to your Clinical Experience  Preceptor, fill out Staff Documentation Qualtrics Survey to receive documentation feedback.
  • Send feedback received from the Qualtrics survey to my Mentee(s) to review. If you had an SP encounter include your edited note in the email for them to review.
  • Complete the Class of 2027 PCL Clinical Experience Survey
