Beacon Station Apartments will serve as on-campus housing for upper-class, undergraduate students during the 2024-2025 academic year. Students assigned to the Beacon Station Apartments will enjoy furnished apartments that come with many amenities, along with being right across the street from the Health Sciences campus.

* Approved items for hanging: High and Mighty Hooks (for drywall only), white sticky tack for posters and pictures, tension rods for curtains and storage needs, over-the-door hooks for doors, beds, etc., magnetic hooks for metal surfaces, freestanding shelving, freestanding towel or drying rack, suction cup hooks for smooth surfaces, clamp hooks and shelves. Please DO NOT hang anything from the ceiling or sprinkler system.

** Wireless routers are not allowed in University Housing. Wireless printers that communicate in the 2.4 of 5 Gigahertz (GHz) frequency are not allowed in University Housing. If a printer supports wireless communication and a wired connection, the printer is permitted only if the wireless communication is disabled.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will be charged the on-campus housing rate of $3,900 per semester plus the upper-class student meal plan of $400.00. Just as with AU's residence halls, your financial aid will cover this expense. 

You will move in on Monday, August 12 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. You will receive a link from AU’s Housing & Residence Life prior to move in where you will sign up for a designated time slot. AU will provide volunteers to help you move in items to your apartment.  

 

Yes, the JagExpress Shuttle Service’s Gold Route will service those at the Beacon Station Apartments. All JagExpress shuttles are GPS-equipped so you can track routes and locations in real-time through the PassioGO app on your smart phone. 

Bedrooms are assigned.

Yes, each bedroom will have two extra-long twin beds per room.  

Kitchens in apartments include standard refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave. You may bring other small kitchen appliance items. You must bring kitchen essentials like silverware, dishes, pots/pans, utensils, towels, trash can, etc. There will not be a dining room table and chairs. 

Yes, but please be mindful of possible space limitations.

Most apartments have a walk-in closet per bedroom, but please coordinate with your roommate to plan for the space. You can view the apartment layout plans by visiting Housing & Residence Life’s Beacon Station Apartment’s website

  1. You must approve and finalize your housing contract in the Housing Portal 
  2. Complete background check. Beacon Station Apartments will provide the link. This must be completed before you move into the apartment. Complete the background check within 48 hours of receiving the link. Please keep in mind that a background check takes around 1-3 business days to process. You will not be able to move in until this step has been completed and processed.
  3. You must have your government-issued id ready when you go to complete your background check. 
  4. Complete the vehicle form for Beacon Station Apartments.  

 

On Monday, August 12, during your move-in time slot, you will receive one apartment key, one mailbox key and one access device that allows you into the Beacon’s parking area. You will receive these items at the Beacon Station Apartments from an AU staff member. If any or all three of these items becomes lost, damaged or is not returned upon move out, you will be responsible for replacement and/or repair costs.  

Yes. All student vehicles need a permit to park on Augusta University property, which will be applied to through the Parking Management Portal. When applying for a permit, students are asked to have license plate and payment information available to complete the transaction. 

Please note that Beacon Station Apartments provides free parking for students. Please let us know whether you will have a vehicle by completing this form. Security services will also regularly patrol the area to help ensure your safety. 

Students who do not have their own mode of transportation can also utilize Augusta University’s free campus shuttle service, JagExpress. All JagExpress shuttles are GPS-equipped with trackable routes and locations in real-time through the PassioGO app. 

You contact Beacon Station Apartments for a maintenance request through their online resident portal. You will have access to this portal once you are moved in.  

We do not allow personal pets in the residence halls; however, we do allow all assistance animals. Assistance Animals (service and support animals) are defined by Augusta University policy. 

Augusta University is not responsible for the care or supervision of assistance animals. For a service animal to be approved to live within the Residence Hall, the student must first go through Testing and Disability Services. TDS can be reached at 706-737-1469 or via email tds@augusta.edu. 

All students with academic year contracts (undergraduate students) must leave their housing assignment no later than 24 hours after their last final exam. If you have extenuating circumstances and need on-campus housing over Winter Break, please complete the Winter Break Stay Request Form, located under "Request" in the Housing Portal 

It is strongly encouraged that you purchase and maintain appropriate renters insurance, as well as incident and accident insurance and personal liability insurance. Neither the Beacon Station Apartments nor Augusta University carry insurance for a resident’s personal property and are not liable for anything stolen, lost, or damaged personal property. These details are included in your housing contract.  

Students/parents are responsible for getting their own renters insurance and covering the costs.  

Yes, all students in residence halls are responsible for renters insurance as outlined in the housing contract.  

Per AU’s guest policy, you are permitted to entertain one guest. The resident extending an invitation must be present at all times during their guest’s stay. Residents assume responsibility for all their guest’s actions, damages and violations of rules. Please review AU’s guest policy for more specifics on guest restrictions, overnight guests, etc.  

Please be aware, guests will not be allowed to park at the Beacon Station Apartments since they will not have a parking permit, and their vehicle will be towed.
