Welcome to the Augusta University College of Nursing!
As the flagship public college of nursing for the state of Georgia, we are dedicated to being educational leaders, innovators, and trailblazers for the nursing profession, education, and research. This is evident by our status as the first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Georgia, the only public nursing anesthesia program in the state, and the state’s only Master of Science in Nursing program where students are eligible to sit for the CNL certification exam. The college is nationally recognized for promoting nursing excellence, improving healthcare delivery, revolutionizing health care, developing visionary leaders, and promoting the highest levels of wellness.
Nurses are consistently voted as the most trusted profession, and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that by 2030, there will be a global shortage of 4.5 million nurses. We are dedicated to doing our part to bridge this gap and prepare qualified nurses to care for the citizens of Georgia, the Southern region, and beyond. Our academically outstanding and visionary students are mentored by internationally recognized faculty who collectively have seven national fellowships. This partnership and expertise position our college as an innovative institution that transforms health care through exceptional education, innovative practice, and cutting-edge research.
