All student organizations need to register to be recognized on campus and must attend the Student Organization Training. New Student Organization Recognition Packets are accepted at the beginning of the semester for review by the Student Life and Engagement Office (SLE).

Necessary Steps

To start a new student organization/club at Augusta University, follow the steps below.

  1. Always check the current list of student organizations to make sure your organization is original; we do not want to duplicate any pre-existing organizations.
  2. Select an advisor for your organization. Make sure they are aware of the organization's goals and purpose.
  3. Write constitution and bylaws with the help of your advisor.
  4. Review and complete the New Student Organization Recognition Packet. The advisor will need to sign the Advisor Agreement section of the packet.
  5. Email your New Student Organization Recognition Packet to studentorgs@augusta.edu
  6. After submission, the president will get an email from the SLE Student Organization Coordinator to complete the next steps. Please allow 5-7 business days for a response.
  7. After your organization is approved, the president will choose a date to attend Student Organization Training that is offered by the Student Life and Engagement Office.
